Chuck Wagon Cookoff Competition

Long before cafeterias, fast food joints and family style restaurants, cooking on the open range for cowboys was an essential part of prairie living. Without the convenience of modern appliances, cowboy cooks had to whip up hearty meals on the open range with primitive cooking methods. Celebrate these legendary cooking methods with Pigeon Forge’s Chuck Wagon Cookoff Competition. This event which grows bigger every year hosts teams as they compete for prizes using campfire cooking methods to create the best foods and dishes. In addition to the cooking competition itself there are numerous activities all weekend for participants and spectators. This year’s event will kick off Friday at Mama’s Farmhouse restaurant with live entertainment by The Quebe Sisters and Andy Nelson.
